GaleriX
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
1. Overview
GaleriX ("the App", package com.codechronicle.galerix) is a gallery and photo/video editor for Android developed by CodeChronicle ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built GaleriX to work on your device: your photos and videos stay with you.
2. Information we access
Photos and videos. With your permission, the App reads the images, videos and albums stored on your device so it can display, organise, edit and share them. This media is processed only on your device. We do not upload, copy or store your photos or videos on our servers.
Files you pick. When you choose an audio file (for example, to add music to a video) or another file through the system file picker, the App reads only that file, and only to complete the action you requested.
Edits and projects. Your edits, saved projects and favourites are stored locally on your device. Edited photos and videos are saved to your device's gallery only when you choose to save them.
3. Information we do not collect
- We do not require you to create an account or sign in.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts or location.
- We do not upload your photos, videos or edits to any server.
- We do not sell or rent any information to third parties.
- The App does not currently include advertising or analytics SDKs.
4. Permissions
- Photos and videos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED, or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android versions): to show and edit the media on your device. On Android 14 and above you can allow access to selected photos only.
- Storage write (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android versions): to save edited photos and videos to your gallery.
- Internet: to download editor content such as stickers. No personal media is sent over the network.
5. Third-party services
The App uses Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage) only to download the sticker catalogue and sticker images shown in the editor. These requests do not contain your photos, videos or personal details. Like any internet service, Google may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver this content. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
When you share media, the App hands the file to the app you choose (for example, WhatsApp or Instagram) using Android's share feature. That app's own privacy policy then applies.
6. Data retention and deletion
All data the App creates (projects, favourites, settings and cached stickers) is stored on your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing the App's data in Android Settings or by uninstalling the App. Media you saved to your gallery stays there until you delete it.
7. Security
Because your media is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us, it stays protected by your device's own security. Network requests for editor content use encrypted HTTPS connections.
8. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy, for example if we add new features such as advertising. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Please review it from time to time.
